Aaron Chalmers has built one of the most unusual careers to come out of British reality television. Best known for his years on Geordie Shore, he later moved into professional MMA, boxing and bare-knuckle fighting. His journey has included Bellator contests, an exhibition with Floyd Mayweather Jr, a dramatic battle with Darren Till, television comebacks and major changes in his family life.
Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Chalmers went from working offshore to becoming a familiar television personality. Yet reality TV became only one chapter of his story. Fighting soon became a serious career rather than a side project.

Chalmers is sometimes confused with former footballer Aaron Anthony Chalmers, who was born in 1991. They are different people.
Aaron Chalmers Early Life and Family
Detailed facts about his childhood and education have remained private. What is clear is that he grew up in the Newcastle area and lived a normal working life before television. He has a younger brother named Terry Chalmers. His mother has been identified as Lynn Chalmers in media coverage, although much of his wider family life has stayed away from the spotlight. His Newcastle background later became central to his television identity, particularly through Geordie Shore.
Aaron Chalmers and Geordie Shore

Ex on the Beach
His reality television career also included Ex on the Beach. He appeared during Series 6 in 2017, entering the programme as an ex connected with Maisie Gillespie. His television relationships and nightlife made him popular with viewers, but his career soon took a different direction.

He later joined Geordie Shore OGs, which focused on former cast members dealing with adulthood, careers, relationships and parenthood.
Geordie Shore Return in 2026
Chalmers returned to the main Geordie Shore programme for Series 26 in 2026. His comeback placed him beside other familiar figures from the show’s earlier years, including Gary Beadle. The return proved that television remains an important part of his career even after years spent fighting professionally.
Aaron Chalmers MMA Career
Chalmers began his professional mixed martial arts career in 2017. Many reality TV personalities have tried combat sports for publicity, but he committed himself seriously to training and competition. He finished his professional MMA career with: 5 wins and 2 losses His victories included three submissions and two knockout or TKO finishes. He first competed under BAMMA before moving to Bellator MMA.

Aaron Chalmers vs Floyd Mayweather
On 25 February 2023, Chalmers faced boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr at The O2 in London. It was an eight-round exhibition rather than an officially scored professional contest. There were no official judges and therefore no declared winner. Mayweather controlled much of the action, but Chalmers completed all eight rounds against one of the finest boxers of his generation. The event became one of the biggest moments of his public career.
Kiefer Crosbie and Idris Virgo Fights
Chalmers later fought former Bellator competitor Kiefer Crosbie in July 2023. Crosbie won by unanimous decision after five rounds. In September 2023, he faced Idris Virgo in Newcastle. Virgo attacked the body effectively and won through a third-round stoppage. These defeats did not end Chalmers’ interest in combat sports. Instead, he changed disciplines again.

Only 22 seconds into Round 2, Till landed a powerful left hand that dropped Chalmers and ended the contest.
Till won by knockout, giving Chalmers his first BKFC defeat. His bare-knuckle record became 2 wins and 1 loss. Despite the defeat, dropping a former UFC championship challenger gave Chalmers a memorable moment against an opponent with far more elite-level fighting experience.

Aaron Chalmers and Talia Oatway
Chalmers and Talia began their relationship in 2017. They welcomed their three sons during their years together but eventually separated. Although some websites have called Talia his wife, there is no strong evidence showing that the couple legally married. She is more accurately described as his former long-term partner. No firmly confirmed new wife or long-term girlfriend has been established for him in 2026.
Aaron Chalmers Net Worth
His exact wealth has never been officially confirmed. Current estimates often place his fortune between £600,000 and £1 million, while other figures have placed his wealth higher. These amounts should be treated as estimates rather than confirmed personal finances.
His income has come from several areas, including television appearances, MMA purses, boxing fights, bare-knuckle contests, sponsorship deals, social media work and commercial opportunities. His exhibition against Floyd Mayweather was considered a major payday. Chalmers later stated that his fight with Darren Till would pay him more than the Mayweather contest.
Business History
Chalmers previously served as director of Aaron Chalmers Ltd, a British company formed in June 2014. The company later entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation and was eventually dissolved in December 2020. The company closure should not be confused with personal bankruptcy, as a limited company and an individual’s finances are legally separate.
Tattoos, Height and Public Image
Chalmers is famous for extensive tattoos across his arms, neck, torso and hands. He has also used heavy black tattoo work to cover some older designs. His height is commonly given as 5 ft 10 in, although BKFC has published a taller measurement. Over time, his image has changed from nightclub-focused reality personality to fighter, father and returning television star.
Where Is Aaron Chalmers Now?
In 2026, Chalmers remains connected with both entertainment and combat sports. He returned to Geordie Shore, competed against Darren Till and remains recognised as an active bare-knuckle fighter. At 39, his career has already moved through offshore work, reality television, MMA, professional boxing and bare-knuckle competition. Few British reality television stars have made such a serious move into professional fighting. That unusual career path continues to keep Aaron Chalmers relevant well beyond his original Geordie Shore fame.
